Diversity Day on May 14

Let’s talk: Research and initiatives against racism at FAU

On May 14, the twelfth Diversity Day will be held across Germany, and FAU naturally has a great program of events lined up.

The Diversity Day is organized by the Office of Equality and Diversity together with the Vice President People, Prof. Dr. Andreas Hirsch, as well as student representatives, and will be held from 9 am until 3 pm in the multifunctional space “EG Mensa Süd”, Erwin-Rommel-Straße 60 in Erlangen.

Our main topics on May 14, 2024 will be internationalization and racism. The event will be held in English.

We would like to cordially invite all students and members of FAU. Come along and enter into discussions with experts from the faculties or those involved in central projects, with students and with colleagues.

Harriet Ziegler, diversity management officer at FAU, outlines the program:

“This year, FAU is once again participating in the German Diversity Day with an interesting program, and we would like to cordially invite everyone to attend! Together with experts from research, teaching and administration, we will discuss our vision of a university with an international outlook.

We will talk about opportunities and successes, but will also cast a critical eye on difficulties and discrimination at our university.

Come along and be inspired by the experiences of prestigious female international researchers and find out all about exciting projects organized by female early career researchers, both students and postdoctoral researchers, and initiatives at our university, as anti-racism work does not only enrich the FAU community, it also provides innovative impulses for improving society.
