The teaching-related Master’s degree program Gymnasium comprises 120 credit points (ECTS) and usually lasts 4 semesters. The teaching-related Master’s degree program Gymnasium is related to the teacher training program Gymnasium in such a way that the first three semesters of the Master’s program represent the modules of the 7th, 8th and 9th semester of the Bavarian teacher training program for Gymnasium. This study structure makes it possible for credit points earned in the Gymnasium teacher training program to be credited in the Master’s program. Thus, a maximum of 90 credit points can be credited.
The 4th master’s semester comprises 30 credit points. The master’s thesis is written in this semester. The master’s thesis can be written in all three areas of the teacher training program, i.e. in subject-specific science, subject-specific didactics or educational science. For this purpose, you must independently seek a topic and the appropriate reviewer. Early arrangements are therefore necessary.
