What is the degree program about?
The study of subject-specific science is primarily concerned with acquiring knowledge in the various sub-areas of French (linguistics, literature and cultural studies). In contrast to a bachelor’s degree, the areas of subject didactics and educational sciences are added.
-
Unlike in school, the academic study of the language, literature and culture of France and French-speaking countries is in the foreground in the teaching degree program. This comprises about half of your studies. You will train language practice – grammar, vocabulary, phonetics, translation, etc. – in additional courses.
-
Under certain conditions, students in all teaching degree programs can apply for the academic degree „Bachelor“ after usually 6 semesters according to the LAPO. The type of Bachelor’s degree depends on the type of school studied and, if applicable, the choice of subject. Further information can be found on the homepage of the Center for Teacher Education (ZfL).
