The degree program combines educational and research approaches to planning and implementing research, evaluation and development projects in the education sector. It therefore qualifies graduates for a wide spectrum of careers in the academic and practical education sectors.
-
The degree program consists of nine modules and the Master’s thesis. Each of the nine modules accounts for 10 ECTS credits, the Master’s thesis accounts for 30 ECTS credits.
- Modules 1 and 2 teach and explore the basics of education science.
- In modules 3, 4 and 5 students acquire skills in research methodology – previous knowledge is not required. Both quantitative and qualitative research methods are covered.
- Modules 6 and 7 are the profile modules in which students choose to explore one particular area in more detail: Media education, heterogeneity and diversity management, quality development in education institutions, international education.
- Modules 8 and 9 consist of a project report. While taking a seminar on project management, students design, implement and assess their own research project.
- Module 10 is the Master’s thesis, that also involves empirical research.
-
Students choose one of four profiles for modules 6 and 7:
- Media Education
- Heterogeneity and Diversity Management
- Quality Development in Educational Institutions
