The interdisciplinary module “Italian Cultural Area: Art, Literature and Language“ offers you the opportunity to deepen your knowledge of Italian art and literature, increase your language skills, and graduate with a certificate after two semesters. In this way, you gain insights into art history and Romance studies without having to decide on a course of study right away, or you can usefully bridge the waiting period for a course of study with limited admission.

What is the degree program about?
Within the framework of the module „Italian Cultural Area“ you will acquire interdisciplinary, subject-specific and methodological competences. By attending topic-specific courses at the Institute of Art History and Italian Romance Studies as well as courses at the Language Center, you will learn the basics of Italian art history, literature, and language. The courses belong to modules from regular bachelor’s degree programs that have been combined to form an interdisciplinary study program, each of which concludes with a module exam. The exams you take can be credited in your subsequent studies, if applicable.

The module studies are designed for 2 semesters, but can be extended by one semester. For the successful completion of the module studies with a certificate, you must acquire a total of 30 ECTS credits. To do this, you will attend one course in each of the subjects Art History, Italian Literature and Italian Language in each semester.
