Bibliometrics
Research statistics (bibliometrics)
Bibliometrics is the quantitative analysis of academic publications using statistics. One of the main uses of bibliometrics is to generate citation databases (such as Web of Science or Scopus), which are used to track the publication activities of researchers, institutes and universities, as well as publication impact. Common statistics such as the journal impact factor or the h-index can be found relatively straightforwardly using the Web of Science and Scopus databases.
