This website shows the orientation courses for international students that are offered by the Central Office for International Affairs in cooperation with FAU’s faculties and institutions. Please scroll down to find more information on faculty-specific events.
Central welcome weeks for international students
The Central Office for International Affairs offers welcome weeks for international students at the beginning of each semester to help you with legal formalities as well as the general onboarding at FAU. The program is open to all international students. If you have any questions or concerns about the program, please e-mail us at mobility@fau.de.
The welcome weeks take place twice each semester:
Winter Semester 2025/26
1st week of September: Welcome week for students taking part in the intensive off-term German language course (FIT course).
1st week of October: Welcome week for all international students.
Summer Semester 2025
04 – 11 March: Welcome week for students taking part in the intensive off-term German language course (FIT course).
07 – 14 April: Welcome week for all international students.

Faculty and school-specific offers
FAU’s faculties, schools and departments also host welcoming events locally, so please browse their websites for further information. Should your school not offer a special program in the current semester you are welcome to join the activities of another school or faculty at your place of study.
