Developments at FAU Campus Nuremberg
City center and north Nuremberg
Major changes are also in the pipeline for Nuremberg, involving new buildings, relocation to new premises and plans for consolidating existing premises.
City center
The School of Business, Economics and Society is located in Nuremberg city center.
Renovation work has already been carried out and is still underway at the buildings in Lange Gasse and Findelgasse. Work in the first construction phase with a volume of approximately 40 million euros will be continued over the coming years. Plans are also in place for consolidation measures and further renovation work on site.
The Interdisciplinary Center for Human Rights Research at FAU is also located in Nuremberg, the city of human rights, and is to be expanded and integrated into the complex currently housing the student restaurant, at Insel Schütt.
Moving Regensburger Straße campus to north Nuremberg
Plans are in the pipeline to give up the Regensburger Straße campus and teacher training to be moved to north Nuremberg. This new location will bring FAU’s various locations in Erlangen and Nuremberg closer together.
After the plans for a commissioned building fell through due to the project company becoming bankrupt, a European call for tender has to be issued again for a commissioned building in north Nuremberg.
