Studying as an exchange and program student (programs such as ERASMUS, direct exchange) at FAU is only possible within the framework of a valid cooperation agreement between the universities or a scholarship program.
The application for an exchange place is first made at the student’s home university. After successful application at the home university, this university will nominate exchange and program students to FAU. In the next step, the students must apply at FAU for an exchange study place.
General eligibility requirements and selection criteria for exchange and program students are:
Enrollment at the home university with the goal of a university degree (incl. doctorate) for the entire duration of the study abroad program,
Sufficient knowledge of the national language or the language of instruction (German/English),
Subject-specific suitability for the desired degree program of study at FAU,
Possible faculty-internal requirements on the FAU side (please note direct exchange cooperation agreements),
In case of Erasmus KA171 students, the home university also takes the academic achievements (grades) into account.
