Virtual University of Bavaria (vhb)
E-learning to supplement classroom learning.
The Virtual University of Bavaria (vhb) is a network of universities in Bavaria. It provides online learning units developed by teaching staff at the member universities that supplement classroom instruction. The Virtual University offers both online courses and shorter online learning units. FAU is one of the member universities in the network.
As a student at our University, you can use the online courses with support from online tutors provided by vhb free of charge. Detailed information is available at www.vhb.org. Detailed descriptions of all courses and demo versions are available at kurse.vhb.org. Please contact the Examinations Office in good time to find out if course achievements obtained by taking a vhb course can be accredited or not.
At OPEN vhb, you will find details of shorter open courses at university level that are designed for the general public. This section contains preparatory courses and courses that can be taken alongside your degree programme. These courses are not intended for accreditation to your degree programme. An overview of the OPEN vhb courses is available at open.vhb.org.
As a lecturer, the vhb not only supports you in developing and implementing online learning units, but also with including existing digital learning units in your teaching. In a repository on the vhb website, you will find online units for blended learning that are 45 minutes long, which can flexibly be integrated into classroom teaching. You can also contribute to the repository by adding blended learning units. More information is available at www.vhb.org/lehrende.
