Memory training, exercises to improve brain fitness, early detection tests for dementia or tools to help carers organize their daily schedule: The range of apps for people with dementia and their care-giving relatives is very wide. A team of researchers at FAU and the Bavarian Digital Dementia Register has now evaluated the scientific evidence and quality for users of German language apps for the first time and has come to two sobering conclusions.

FAU performed its best in Material Sciences again this year. Within Germany, FAU is among the leading universities with nine subjects recognized in the top 15.

The start-up oculai has obtained capital worth 2.5 million euros in a seed financing round. The start-up intends to invest the funding in continuing to develop their technology and working towards it being implemented on as many building sites as possible. The start-up company has its roots at FAU.

Students can apply for the one-off 200 EUR energy price allowance from March 15. It is available to all students who were enrolled at a German institute of higher education on the cut-off date of December 1, 2022 and who had their domicile or habitual residence in Germany on that date. Students must submit their online application by September 30, 2023 at the latest.
