In spring 2023, we are once more organizing a concert open free of charge to all alumni, students and staff at the University. What’s special about this concert, however, is that students were able to make suggestions about which bands and artists will perform.
FAU’s Schlossgartenfest is one of the largest and most beautiful garden parties in Europe. On the last Saturday in June, the President invites alumni, students, members and friends of the University, as well as high-profile guests from politics, business and academia, to come and dance and enjoy a fantastic evening in the Schlossgarten.
With around 400 items on the program, FAU runs the most events of all the contributors to the Long Night of Sciences, which takes place every two years in the region. Alumni can enter our prize draw for a chance to win tickets.
Our first ever FAU Alumni Day took place on June 25, 2022 – a very special day for the FAU community! Alumni traveled from near and far to visit their alma mater, share their experiences, make new contacts and listen to talks to find out about what is new at FAU. You can already start to look forward to the next FAU Alumni Day.
FAU alumni meet-ups
Visit your old home and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere at one of FAU’s alumni meet-ups in Erlangen or Nuremberg. The alumni management team organizes regular meet-ups for former students of various subjects. We keep you up to date with what is going on in our FAU Alumni Network group and in the schedule of events on our website.
Have you just finished your degree? Congratulations! As a brand-new alumni we would like to invite you to join our international alumni network. We hope you will join us to celebrate your achievements and your official transition from student to alumna or alumnus.
A list of the current graduation ceremonies is available in our schedule of events.
Dies academicus – FAU’s anniversary celebrations
Once a year on November 4, FAU celebrates the date when the University was established in 1743. This was the day that Friedrichs-Universität was founded in Erlangen by Margrave Friedrich of Brandenburg-Bayreuth. It was the third university to be established in Franconia, after the universities of Altdorf and Würzburg. As alumni, you are cordially invited to attend. Please get in touch to reserve a place by mid October at the latest.
