QS subject ranking: FAU among the top 200 universities in the world
Five subjects at FAU ranked among the top 10 in Germany
In this year’s QS subject ranking, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) achieved a place in a total of 20 subjects. FAU is represented in all five subject areas of the university ranking conducted by education information service provider Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).
FAU in the top 200 worldwide in seven subjects
As in previous years, Materials Science is ranked internationally among the top 100, at 95th place. Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics and Astronomy, and Chemistry at FAU maintain their position in the top 200. Medicine at FAU has made it into the top 200 this year in 172nd place.
FAU ranks among top 10 in Germany in five subjects
FAU is represented among the top ten in Germany with one more subject than last year: Chemical Engineering (5th place), Electrical Engineering (6th place), Materials Science (6th place), Mechanical Engineering (8th place). Medicine has made it into the top 10 this year in 9th place.
QS subject ranking
For its subject ranking, QS Quacquarelli Symonds investigated over 5200 universities, before including a total of 1747 of them in the ranking. The 55 subjects included in the ranking are split into the five subject areas Arts and Humanities, Engineering and Technology, Life Science and Medicine, Natural Science and Social Sciences & Management The following categories were considered when assessing the universities and their subjects: academic and employer reputation, citations, h-index and international research network.
