FAU Alumni #MyStory: Alex Blania, CEO Tools for Humanity

Co-founder of World ( former Worldcoin)

The young founder and managing director Alex Blania went from Erlangen to Silicon Valley after his studies. He is CEO of Tools for Humanity and founded the cryptocurrency Worldcoin with OpenAI founder Sam Altman, which was recently renamed World. His company makes devices that scan our irises and can be used to identify ourselves as humans on the internet – the so-called orbs. His ideas receive great attention worldwide.

The FAU alumnus studied physics and industrial engineering at our FAU. In the interview, Alex Blania gives personal insights into his time as a student, talks about his path to Silicon Valley and reveals what he would say to his childhood self today.
