A Cup with the President – Episode 14: Prof. Dr. Benedikt Morschheuser

Visiting Prof. Dr. Benedikt Morschheuser, Professorship for Information Systems (Gamification)

Each semester, FAU President Prof. Dr. Joachim Hornegger visits professors who have just recently joined FAU. At their respective institutes, he gets to know them better as they talk about their research and share what is important to them.

This series serves as a brief introduction of the researcher and allows a peek into such visit by the president.

In Episode 14, the President is meeting with Prof. Dr. Benedikt Morschheuser who holds the professorship for Information Systems, especially Gamification at FAU.

Prof. Dr. Benedikt Morschheuser analyzes design elements of digital games and their impact on user motivation, behaviour and experience.

 

He uses the gained insights for the development of game-based approaches answering to urgent economic and societal challenges.

 

Before coming to FAU, he worked at the Daimler AG.

 

As a child, Prof. Morschheuser dreamt of becoming a LEGO engineer.
