FAU and Siemens RIE Erlangen-Nuremberg Host Tsinghua X-lab Delegation for Inspiring Exchange

On Thursday, October 31, 2024, FAU and the Siemens Research and Innovation Ecosystem (RIE) Erlangen-Nuremberg had the pleasure of hosting a distinguished delegation from Tsinghua X-lab. Through Siemens’ RIE program, Siemens fosters long-term research partnerships with esteemed academic institutions, including FAU and Tsinghua University.

The visit began at ZOLLHOF with a warm welcome from Prof. Dr. Kathrin Möslein, Vice President at FAU. This was followed by inspiring keynotes from Prof. Dr.-Ing. Florian Risch of FAPS, Dr. Hao Xiuqing, Head of Tsinghua X-Lab, and Anne Braun from ZOLLHOF, each sharing ground breaking developments from their respective fields. The morning concluded with a guided tour of ZOLLHOF and dynamic start-up pitches by Dr. Isabel Schellinger and Marius Rummel from Angiolutions, as well as Leon Heimberg and Juergen Geck from lama.one.

After a joint lunch, the delegation continued their visit at JOSEPHS, where they were warmly welcomed by JOSEPHS CEO Prof. Dr. Claudia Lehmann. Here, guest speakers from various innovative sectors shared their visions and ongoing projects. Highlights included presentations from Constanze Welter and Katharina Gaull of Siemens RIE Erlangen-Nuremberg, Dr. Siming Bayer and Dr. Arati Gurung from Siemens Healthineers, and Dr. Eva Russwurm from KI-Park. The day ended with an engaging interactive tour of JOSEPHS’ innovation spaces.
