Meeting Prof. Dr. Dr. Patricia Wiater at the Chair for Public Law, Public International Law and Human Rights

Each semester, FAU President Prof. Dr. Joachim Hornegger visits professors who have just recently joined FAU. At their respective institutes, he gets to know them better as they talk about their research and share what is important to them.

This series serves as a brief introduction of the researcher and allows a peek into such visit by the president.

This time, in episode 13, he visits Prof. Dr. Dr. Patricia Wiater who heads FAU’s Chair for Public Law, Public International Law and Human Rights.

Prof. Dr. Dr. Patricia Wiater researches on questions concerning constitutional law, public international law, and European Community law. Her focus lies on basic right and human rights.

She is interested in boundary issues that go beyond the typical protection of theses rights, e.g. legal ownership of non-human entities such as companies.

Prior to FAU, Wiater was senior academic counsellor at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich.
