FAU Alumni Fund of the Deutschlandstipendium

Every year, scholarship holders and sponsors gather at the Germanisches Nationalmuseum Nuremberg to celebrate, exchange ideas and get to know each other at the Deutschlandstipendium scholarship celebration.

With the Deutschlandstipendium, companies as well as alumni of FAU support committed students on their way to successfully completing their studies and taking their first steps into the professional world, for example with internships.

In 2023, a total of three scholarships were financed from the Alumni Fund of the Deutschlandstipendium. The alumni scholarships come from several individual donations starting at 150 euros and are doubled by the German government.

FAU´s Alumni Management met two of the scholarship holders at the scholarship celebration and got to know them better. Farhana Tasnin Bipasha and Nele Hufnagel.

Farhana, who was born in Bangladesh, is in the 3rd semester of studying a Master’s in Physical Activity and Health and would like to do a PhD after her studies and do research as a scientist in the field of sport and rehabilitation. In addition to her studies, Farhana is involved, among other things, as a blood donor.

“I feel honored to be a #Deutschlandstipendium holder.”

And: “Above all, I must add that the president Joachim Hornegger is the coolest president I have ever met.”

Nele is studying theater and media studies in the 5th semester and sociology in the 3rd semester. She would like to advance the necessary activism for an equal, non-discriminatory and environmentally friendly society together with other people and taking into account the content of her studies. Therefore, in addition to her studies, Nele is involved in environmental activism, among other things.

“After years full of biographical hurdles and structural poverty, the #Deutschlandstipendium gives me confidence in my academic ability, financial security and thus even more capacity and dedication to my course content and my professional goals.”

Farhana and Nele are two excellent examples of how valuable and meaningful the Deutschlandstipendium is for the scholarship holders. We thank all of our sponsors for their commitment to the students!
