University election: Submit your nominations from April 27 to May 10
Elections for the Senate, Faculty Council, Appointments Council, Student Council and Student Committees
The next University election is just around the corner! This June, students, doctoral candidates and staff at FAU who are eligible to vote in the electronic University elections can vote for the representatives of each member group in the Senate, the Faculty Councils of the five faculties and in the Appointments Council of the School of Theology. Students are also able to vote on who is to represent them in the Student Council and the respective Student Committees.
Why should I vote?
“The answer is clear – so you can have your say!”, says Chancellor Christian Zens. “Getting involved in academic affairs enables members of FAU to participate in the most important decisions that are made about the structure and organization of the University and to shape teaching and research, taking an active role in contributing to the future of FAU.”
Student representation is for students discuss their goals and make decisions that they pursue further in Faculty Councils and in the Senate. The term of office of the elected students begins on October 1 and lasts for one year, the term of office of the other elected members is two years.
The election for the doctoral candidates’ representatives at FAU will take place at the same time as the University election. All doctoral candidates can vote for the speaker and the deputy speaker for their faculty. The elected members form the Doctoral Candidates’ Council.
