Studying the green mobility of the future
New degree programs: Electromobility ACES as a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree begin in winter semester 2022/23
We won’t be able to reverse the effects of climate change without electric mobility. To meet this demand, FAU is offering two new degree programs during the coming winter semester: Electromobility ACES as a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. All are welcome to visit the Department of Mechanical Engineering on Friday, July 1, to find out more about this degree program and other technical degree programs. The application deadline is mid July for the Master’s program and the end of September for the Bachelor’s program.
Due to the current crisis in fossil fuel supply and climate change, the field of electromobility is now more important than ever. Current trends in the field involve much more than just electromobility itself since aspects such as autonomous driving using artificial intelligence, vehicle networking, electric powertrains and sustainability mobility concepts all play an important role. Students gain an in-depth knowledge of all of these topics in both degree programs.
About the Electromobility ACES degree programs
The Electromobility ACES Bachelor’s degree program (taught in German) is due to start in winter semester 2022/23 and the deadline for applications is Friday, September 30, 2022. The degree program is aimed at prospective students who want to play a role in technological and environmental change and who want to be a part of the future of Germany and Bavaria as a location for innovation. The degree program has no admission restrictions and all prospective students with the relevant university entrance qualifications or vocational qualifications (such as “Meisterin” or “Techniker”) are welcome to apply. The degree program teaches fundamental skills in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, applied automotive engineering and further fields of engineering such as materials science and engineering, chemical and biological engineering and artificial intelligence.
The Master’s degree program in Electromobility ACES also begins in winter semester 2022/23. This program can be studied in German or also entirely in English. The application deadline for the Master’s degree program for graduates of technical Bachelor’s degree programs is Friday, July 15, 2002. The Master’s degree program builds on the knowledge taught in the Bachelor’s degree program.

“Maschinenbau live” info day
The info day is taking place on Friday, July 1, 2022 from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Chair of Polymer Technology, Am Weichselgarten 10, Erlangen. Anyone who is interested in studying Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering and Management and International Production and Management are also welcome to attend. The celebrations for the 40th anniversary of mechanical engineering at FAU will begin at 11 am and all are welcome to attend.
More information about the info day and the anniversary celebrations is available on the Department of Mechanical Engineering website.
