FAU retains its strong position in THE subject ranking

FAU demonstrates its expertise in engineering and computer science.

FAU once more shows what it can do in the second and third subject groups in the Times Higher Education (THE) ranking. The second ranking group focuses on engineering and computer science, and the third on subjects including social sciences.

In computer science, FAU improved its position, moving up one rank and making it into the top 10 in Germany. On an international level, it improved by eleven places. FAU retained its traditionally strong position in engineering, remaining at sixth place in the national ranking. In social sciences, FAU came in at place 24, the first German university to be included in the ranking.

About the THE subject ranking

In addition to the university ranking provided by Times Higher Education, it also publishes a subject ranking. For this purpose, various groups of subjects are evaluated over a period of several weeks. The entire ranking is available online.
