The lecture period begins on 12 April 2021. As a new student, this is the beginning of an important new chapter. At Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, new students are welcomed in their new degree programme, faculty and department with meet and greets, online FAQ sessions, videos and online events. Information about the coronavirus for students
Our coronavirus website has all the most important information about the current rules regarding the coronavirus pandemic for students as well as a contact address for questions. The website also contains a link to the FAU President’s podcast on YouTube with regular updates about the ongoing situation with the pandemic at the University.
First steps for new students
The Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Theology has put some tips and information for its new students on its faculty website that may be helpful to students from other faculties. This includes information about IT services such as IdM and technical guides such as getting started with video conferencing on Zoom.
IT tips from the Erlangen Regional Computing Centre (RRZE)
The Erlangen Regional Computing Centre (RRZE) at FAU has put together all the information new students need about registration as well as for activating their IdM account and all the services provided by RRZE (FAUMail address, VPN, WLAN, eduroam, CIP pools, FAUbox, IT training courses, the video portal, IdM portal, blog service, free software) on a website.
