Global market leaders visit Erlangen

First Innovation Day in Erlangen a major success

Roughly 200 participants from business and industry met during the first ‘Global Market Leaders Innovation Day’ run by WirtschaftsWoche and FAU to discuss innovations in the area of energy and climate. FAU President Prof. Dr. Joachim Hornegger presented FAU’s strengths in innovation during the congress in the Heinrich-Lades-Halle in Erlangen.

Which are the latest ideas in the area of energy and climate? How can a start-up become a global leader? These were just some of the central issues discussed during the first Global Market Leaders Innovation Day. Throughout the day, participants were able to gather new impulses and share ideas. FAU was well-represented, with Prof. Dr. Peter Wasserscheid, Head of Institute for Chemical Reaction Engineering at FAU introducing his research findings on liquid hydrogen energy carriers, which he is now successfully marketing on a global scale with the FAU spin-off Hydrogenious Technologies. Various start-ups which all originated from FAU also introduced their latest innovations.
