With Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg celebrating its 275th anniversary this year, the Schlossgartenfest on 30 June is going to be very special. New this year – tickets are available to the general public and not just to those associated with the University.

Catering for all tastes

Guests at Schlossgartenfest will able to sample some great food this year. Local restaurateurs Peter Hübschmann from Ebermannstadt and Marcus Müller from Veilbronn are providing catering this year for the first time. They have set up a joint venture and will be serving food from all over the world, in keeping with the event’s motto – ‘welcoming the world to Erlangen’. Four small breweries from the region will also be serving their beer. Guests will even have the opportunity to try the FAU anniversary beer ‘Helles Köpfchen’ (bright spark)’.

The programme

In addition to five different bands who will be filling the dance floors, there will be highlights from light opera and musicals at 10pm and the ever-popular firework display at the Huguenot fountain at 11pm. There will be light installations throughout the entire garden and lanterns will be on sale with the proceeds going to charity.

An overview of the programme is available on the Schlossgartenfest website.

Tickets

This year, tickets are not only available to members of the University Association and University staff – they can also be purchased by the general public. Information about ticket prices is available on the Schlossgartenfest website.
