University election 2015: nominations open
This year, students and university staff are asked once again to cast their votes in the university election. The representatives for each of the University’s member groups are elected for the Senate, the Faculty Councils of the five faculties and the School of Theology’s Appointments Council (Berufungsrat). Furthermore, students will decide who is going to represent them in their respective Student Associations and in the Students’ Representatives Governing Board.
Submit nominations by 13 May 2015
Nominations can be submitted until 13 May 2015, 4 p.m., to the Elections Office at Schloss or to the Returning Officer, Chancellor Dr. Sybille Reichert. You still have enough time to consider standing for election, find supporters and submit your nomination. All FAU students and employees are eligible to stand for election. For more details, see www.wahlen.fau.de. The names of the candidates admitted to the election can be seen on the web pages regarding the university election and on lists displayed at the various locations at the University.
University election on 30 June 2015
All FAU students and employees are eligible to vote. Students will receive their polling cards via the ‘mein campus’ web portal and employees will receive theirs via internal mail. If you have not received a polling card, please check in the electoral register whether you are entered as eligible to vote. The electoral register will be on display at the Elections Office of the University Administration in Erlangen (Schlossplatz 4, room 2.027) and at the School of Business and Economics in Nuremberg (Lange Gasse 20, library) from 28 May to 1 June.
Submit postal vote application forms by 16 June 2015
You can also choose to vote by postal vote. Application forms will be sent out with the polling card and are also available at www.wahlen.fau.de . The postal vote application forms must be submitted to the Elections Office by 16 June 2015, 4 p.m., or by 23 June if the election documents are collected in person. Completed ballot papers must be submitted by the time the polling stations close on the day of the election.
Doctoral candidates’ representatives election
The election for the doctoral candidates’ representatives at FAU will take place on the same day. All doctoral candidates can vote for the speaker for their Faculty. All doctoral candidates who are registered in the electronic register of doctoral candidates ‘docDaten’ are eligible to vote. Please register by 28 May if you have not registered yet. Votes in the election for the doctoral candidates’ representatives may only be cast by postal vote. Election documents will be sent out automatically to all doctoral candidates who are eligible to vote.
