FAU Among Global Leaders in Chemistry and Engineering

Positive result for FAU in Shanghai University ranking

FAU has scored highly in the internationally renowned Academic Ranking of World Universities by Shanghai Jiao Tong University. In particular in chemistry and in engineering, FAU is part of the global elite; the university is ranked among the 75 best universities worldwide for chemistry and, for the first time, it is among the top 100 for engineering.

FAU has improved its performance in both fields compared to last year, when the university was ranked among the top 150 globally. In the natural sciences, FAU is ranked among the top 150 universities and its ratings have remained stable in other subject areas in recent years. In the overall ranking, FAU is one of the 300 most prestigious universities in the world out of a total of 1,200 universities evaluated.

The Academic Ranking of World Universities has been conducted annually since 2003 by the Center for World-Class Universities at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The ranking takes into account each university’s number of highly cited scientists according to the Thompson Reuters ranking list, the number of major scientific awards and the number of publications in influential scientific journals such as Nature and Science.
